The ColdFusion Developers at Adobe have contributed an invaluable asset to the world of computer programming with this very widely distributed software program. Developing the perfect ColdFusion web application requires a certain level of depth and execution that only a ColdFusion Development Company can provide consumers with on a consistent basis. In recent years, the developers of ColdFusion have been at the receiving end of an incredible surge of support and recognition in the web development community, and rightly so.

ColdFusion offers many advantages to its users, and these are emphasized even more when programmers integrate its use adjacently with the Adobe Flex program. One of the key benefits to consider is the sped up development time. ColdFusion Developers have found ways to make the creation and deployment of dynamic ColdFusion web applications both easy and fast. Not only does this make using Adobe ColdFusion and Flex more convenient than any other available platforms, but in the long run, this also brings down the costs of production and maintenance for users.

Another significant advantage to be found in the utilization of these two programs is the enhanced layout capability. With ColdFusion‘s built-in Javascript and HTML, the program’s GUI is optimally executed. Direct communication with the server and bold data display have both been made possible through the successful marriage of ColdFusion and Flex. This Flex shopping cart is an example of the kind of technology using Flex developers can bring to your website.

There is also a considerably broader range of communicability to be experienced through ColdFusion due to its compatibility with most operating systems and servers. Some of these systems include AIX, Linux, Mac OS X, Windows, FreeBSD and more. Investing in a Coldfusion Development project with Flex Components is undoubtedly a smart move. The ColdFusion development and Flex development Company, Ecom Solutions, has made it possible for programmers to undoubtedly get the most from their time and money, Which in the end is a savings passed on to their clients.

A Flex Shopping Cart provides the following unique features:

1. Pageless navigation: that means your customers don’t have to hop from page to page in order to complete the transaction while using the Flex Shopping Cart; everything happens on a single page like a desktop application.

2. The changes are reflected immediately: as your customers quickly add new items and change the quantities of existing items the changes are immediately reflected without having the pages to be reloaded. This significantly increases the speed and interactivity.

3. Secure, single-screen checkout: a single screen checkout reduces the chances of abandonment and distraction. The entire transaction takes place extremely fast and your customers don’t lose track of what they are doing due to countless distractions existing on the Internet. Our Flex Shopping Cart is completely secure.

4. Comprehensive administrative area: you can control all the aspects of our Flex Shopping Cart using a highly intuitive administrative area that can be accessed using login ID and password. You can assign various accessibility levels for your employees. You can maintain your entire stock, reporting formats and calculation algorithms using the administrative area of the Ecomsolutions.net Flex shopping cart.

5. Native support for rich media: who says that a shopping cart only means drab numbers and inactive purchasing functions? Make your shopping cart highly interactive by embedding audio, video and even Flash animations using the native support for rich media in our Flex Shopping Cart.

6. Countless design styles and skins: brand the Flex Shopping Cart according to the layout of your own Website; your customers don’t have to know that you are using an external Application to handle business transactions. Through various designs and skins you can totally customize the look and feel of our Flex Shopping Cart.

7. Multiple international currencies and automatic exchange rates: once you start selling on the Internet people buy from you from all over the world and you cannot simply offer them a single currency. Our Flex Shopping Cart gives you the ability to let your customers pay in their own currencies. This way they feel totally at ease while shopping on your Website and they don’t have to use external help to figure out how much they need to pay you in case they pay using their own currency.

8. Filtered navigation and sorting: give complete control of how the data is displayed on your shopping cart to your customers so that they completely feel at home while shopping at your website. Our Flex Shopping Cart lets them customize the navigation and sort the displayed items according to names, values, and even their colors.

9. Custom product display and layout: as explained above, the sky is the limit when it comes to customizing the display of your products and prices using our Flex shopping cart. Display your products in whichever way you want to so that practically no distractions and confusions occur when people are buying from you; this ensures seamless transactions without the chances of your customers leaving the transaction midway.

10. Automated shipping and tax calculations: once these calculations have been defined using the administrative area they are calculated automatically while your customer is adding items to the shopping cart. Every calculation happens in real-time and immediately on the same screen so that your customers don’t lose track of what they are doing. They don’t have to carry out even a single calculation. It’s as simple as clicking on individual items in order to add them to the shopping cart and then clicking the checkout link in order to pay on the same screen.

So what’s the big deal? Doesn’t every shopping cart provide these features?
Sure, many shopping carts do provide these features but the startling difference with a Flex Shopping Cart is that everything happens on the same screen — it seems like using a desktop application. This significantly improves the quality of experience that your customers have while shopping on your Website. You can animate the processes, you can create highly customized and interactive inventory lists that can be scrolled up and down keeping other components of your current webpage static, and every action, every calculation happens in real time, on a single page. It totally redefines the way people use and interact with your shopping cart interface. Your customers will get addicted to it.

Our Flex Shopping Cart:

Being at the forefront of the Adobe Flex development technology it was but a natural step for us at EcomSolutions.net to build an enterprise level Flex Shopping Cart that brings pageless navigation to your E-commerce interface. The Flex Shopping Cart is a full-blown RIA component that can be incorporated into any workflow and E-commerce requirement.

Why would you go for a Flex shopping cart from Ecomsolutions.net?

At EcomSolutions.net we let our Applications create their own reasons for existing and for becoming irresistible choices for our customers and clients. When you use our Flex Shopping Cart you provide your shoppers an unparalleled experience in online shopping. Gone are the days when even small changes demanded the loading of new pages. A Flex Shopping Cart does not have to depend on that old-school methodology.

Are you ready to move on to the next level of web design and user interaction?

There is a paradigm shift in the way people use the Internet and interact on commercial Websites. Total customization no longer remains in the realms of usability, whitepapers, and web design conferences! Adobe Flex makes functionalities feel like a breeze. Here are some examples of Flex enhanced features we can provide:

Updating data on the webpage without having to refresh the page

Dragging and dropping items into the shopping cart along with simultaneous recalculation of the cost

Rearranging items on the webpage according to your convenience

Changing the look of the website according to your preferences

Developing and installing the most complex animations and graphics

The greatest benefit of our experience with Flex is that we can create Rich Internet Applications (RIA) that deploy consistently on all major browsers, and Operating Systems, consequently providing a richer experience for your audience. Flex brings real-time interactivity in your existing Applications, and Ecom Solutions can develop and install completely new Flex Applications in a timely fashion!

So what’s the big difference between the normal HTML websites and Flex websites?

HTML Websites, as you may know, are a collection of static pages linked via a common navigation system. Whenever you want to update information on an HTML page, the page has to connect to the server where everything is being hosted and get the latest information. For this to happen you either have to fill out a form and then submit it, or you have to refresh the page.

In the case of Flex, your webpage does not have to go to the main server in order to display the latest information. The way it is programmed, the required data is handled on the client side. This makes your interaction with the online application extremely fast and it also saves repeat visits to the server. Imagine the amount of bandwidth you can save in the case of 1000s of visitors accessing your Website every hour!

For further understanding, think about basic applications used on your computer, such as word processors and spreadsheets. You don’t have to refresh the window after every change; the changes are reflected immediately and most often your word processor or spreadsheet application saves whatever changes you are making automatically. The same ease of functionality can now be rendered on websites too, with the use of Flex Technology.

Right from the early days of the launch of Adobe Flex our experienced team of Developers and Programmers at Ecom Solutions has been creating cutting-edge online applications for our local as well as international clients. We are redefining the way our clients leverage their business websites to provide a richer experience to their users, while in the process, significantly improving their bottom line. We can offer you the following Adobe Flex Services:

Redesign the Architecture of your existing Online Applications

Create new Flex Applications from scratch

Provide Consulting Services to your Flex development team

Convert your Legacy Applications into Web-based applications with same functionalities and ease of use

Maintain, update and modernize your existing Flex Applications

So far we have developed and installed the following Applications developed in Adobe Flex:

Intranet Training Courses

Content Management Systems

Interactive Instructional Design Modules

Shopping Carts / Flex enhanced E-Commerce

Online Help systems and Reference Modules

Ecom Solutions can integrate Adobe Flex Development with all major existing web programming platforms and languages such as ColdFusion, PHP, .NET, ASP, JAVA, Ajax and Ruby. To learn more about how we can revolutionize your online presence and catapult your business to new heights please contact us.

There was a time when even simple HTML pages used to make us happy. A few hyperlinks here and a couple of form elements there and you would have an “interactive” presence on the Internet.

JavaScript and CSS improved things to a great extent but still the functionalities on a webpage could never even remotely match the interface of a desktop application. With the advent of Flash things spiced up a bit but they were still on the static side. There was nothing that we could call interactive and dynamic in the Flash animations that the developers created. Although there is a fair amount of “programming” that you can do in Flash, this feature never caught on with hardcore programmers because interface designing skills were always required; they needed something that could help them create Flash applications by simply having to write code. Flex was developed keeping this in mind. And with this was born the concept of Rich Internet Applications.

Rich Internet applications gave the best of both the world to the users: the flexibility of desktop applications and the reach of the Web. Remote data could be accessed and manipulated just as local data and this was made possible by Flex. Flex, now Flex 2, allows developers to create animated interfaces just by coding. So what’s the big deal you may ask? Many often enterprise level applications need to interact with remote database servers. Data is fetched from the servers, interpreted, processed and manipulated and then presented to the user, and this requires a fair amount of programming.

Then how does ColdFusion come into the picture? Flex 2 works in tandem with ColdFusion; ColdFusion handles all the back-end programming and database access. Flex 2 cannot directly access the database server and understand the data; this part is handled by ColdFusion. Flex 2 can display the data and you can move the objects around on your web pages while using rich Internet applications but the real database level programming and other algorithmic programming is done by ColdFusion.
