Websites these days have tons of information and most of it is dynamic; a quick, easy way to adjust certain parts of the site without affecting others is needed. This is where Content Management Systems (CMS) come in. CMS provide a simple, intuitive way to manage a large collection of data with the ease of automation, built in functions, and other helpful tricks. One of the biggest names in this market is Mura.

Mura CMS is a management system designed to keep web pages up to date and simplified for both viewers and web masters. Complete with many different tools, having Mura development on your side is a definite advantage. Mura CMS offers an easy way to manage the various pieces of content on your site. It especially excels in dynamically updating information, such as databases or many blog entries. In these sorts of scenarios, a quick way to add links is needed, but without the pain of adjusting every single parent link on the main directory page. Rather, a system is implemented to keep various items at different priority levels pending on your requests.

Mura CMS development cuts down on time by streamlining the process. Much like an API in traditional programming, Mura provides a quick way to reuse code, augment existing web pages, and integrate with both front end and back end applications. This flexibility allows Mura to save precious development time and let resources be spent on new features and services, rather than on resource intensive back end operations.

Running on every major operating system, Linux included, Mura provides a solution no matter your preferred operating environment. Additionally, it integrates seamlessly with ColdFusion, so database heavy applications which may require more assistance can easily work with both platforms. There is also great Mura Support available to help with implementation and uptime maintenance.

Time saving, dynamic content upkeep, and database control are just some of the many services offered by Mura. Mura Support is always there as well to keep you and your website running in the very best shape. Time is precious in the development world. New products and websites come out every day, and without a fighting spirit, a company is doomed to be passed up by the competition. The best way to enhance that spirit is to spend time working on development, rather than exact implementations of previously done work, to keep a solid development cycle and faster time to market.

HTML5 is making a big splash in the tech community. Heralded as a new standard to ease content creation and consumption on the web, it is still definitely in its infancy. Companies are coming out with new technologies, implementations, and tricks as they learn how to best take advantage of this new standard. Combining HTML5 with the surge of Mobile Devices makes for a winning combination. As more and more mobile devices gain popularity, developers are beginning to feel the strain of writing native Mobile Applications for each and every device. The promise of HTML5 is that it will scale and run like a native app on every device. One of the hurdles with this is establishing a functioning backend to support all of these new features. This is where ColdFusion comes to play.

ColdFusion is Adobe’s HTML5 content creation suite. It is billed as a fast, agile, and powerful development tool for both desktop and mobile implementations. ColdFusion can be used to refer to the software itself, or the custom scripting language which is akin to PHP in function. This can make some of the custom features of the program easy to implement and modify at a server level.

The feature set of ColdFusion is immense, capable of meeting almost any developer’s need. All of these can be leveraged at the mobile level, giving even more functionality to these portable Mobile Devices. Some of the features include server monitors to fine tune the application behavior, direct and easy image and file modifications, multi-threading capabilities to give complete control of application behavior, integration with Adobe Flash, Microsoft products, PDFs and much more! The ability to make robust, yet lightweight, Applications with ColdFusion and the relationship with HTML 5 serves to create the best in Mobile Web Apps.

The scalability of ColdFusion‘s offerings make it perfect for Mobile Web Apps. The features are unique and easy to work with so custom, specific apps can be created for a small business’s employees. It is also robust enough to scale to work with hundreds of thousands of users, all the while maintaining a rich and interactive front end.

ColdFusion and ColdFusion Development continues to change with the times. Always offering the latest in Web technology, it has grown into an extremely powerful and agile development platform. Its HTML5 offerings keep in in the front of the pack today. In addition, its mobile feature set makes it the perfect choice for mobile web app development.

The influence of Apple’s iPad can be felt everywhere, and the changes the iPad has brought with it have been enormous. iPads have given businesses new ways to improve productivity, they have given schools new ways to teach students, and they have given consumers new ways to be entertained. So with the iPad being such a formidable force in most aspects of everyday life, where does the ipad stand in the medical field? More specifically, what do iPad apps in the medical field mean for patients and doctors?

iPad apps in the medical field are something that regular iPad users know very little about. These iPad apps in the medical field are an emerging hot topic for iPad developers. iPad developers are being challenged to bring existing technologies in the medical field into harmony with iPad applications.

Imagine giving doctors the ability to carry every one of their patient's charts with them

iPad apps in the medical field have the potential to change the way a doctor interacts with a patient’s information, and the way patients interact with doctors. The introduction of iPad apps in the medical field has the potential to create a dynamic database of patient’s records that would allow doctors around the country to share information seamlessly. Imagine being on vacation and having an accident, it would take far less time for the doctor to treat and diagnose a patient if they had that patient’s whole medical history on their ipad. iPad developers and iPad programmers looking to take on the challenges of developing these kinds of iPad apps for the medical field need to have extensive knowledge of the kinds of database systems needed to support them.

This is only one of the many kinds of iPad apps in the medical field that iPad development companies are looking to create. iPad app developers are looking for ways to allow cardiac sonographers a way to view their findings on the iPad’s large screen. iPad developers are also creating systems and apps that allow x-ray technicians to archive and present all their findings on the iPad. This interaction between existing medical technology and the iPad is quickly enabling doctors to spend more time where they are needed, with patients. Doctors that utilize iPad apps in the medical field are no longer tied to a desktop computer. iPad apps in the medical field give doctors the ability to view, edit, and share information on the run, and in a field where seconds can be the difference between life and death, any time saved is a good thing.

Ecom Solutions is a company that provides iPad development solutions to a wide variety of industries. They also have extensive knowledge of database systems, and content management systems, making them a prime contender to develop iPad apps to be used in the medical field.

Advantages of hosting your ColdFusion Website or Application with a ColdFusion Developer

So you have a ColdFusion Website or a ColdFusion Application and you are looking for hosting. The question here is should you host with any provider, or look out for those hosting Providers that have ColdFusion specialists on hand? Some businesses look at, and prefer hosting with ColdFusion Developers that actually offer CF Hosting as an additional Service.

There are several advantages to hosting your ColdFusion systems with a ColdFusion Hosting Provider that also has ColdFusion programmers or resources on hand:

You can rely on a competent CF Network Architecture, proper and dedicated ColdFusion Environment, updates / patching done without trial and error episodes, and advanced CF knowledge

ColdFusion Development Firms that offer hosting as a service typically know what resides on their coldfusion hosting servers even if they didnt develop the ColdFusion Website or ColdFusion Application.

If there is a problem with ColdFusion hosting, an intervention will be more competent (remember, ColdFusion Development Firms often work on live servers, unless they have set up a mirror ColdFusion development environment).

Major advantage – If you need any changes to the ColdFusion Website, a ColdFusion specialist is available right away, or much faster than a remote ColdFusion developer.

The ColdFusion Development Firm specializes in ColdFusion and doesn’t need to babysit other unrelated Websites or Applications

A ColdFusion Developer that offers ColdFusion hosting as a service typically has a dedicated ColdFusion Department within their Firm, complete with ColdFusion Programmers, ColdFusion Analysts, and project managers that can be at your service

Major advantage – ColdFusion Developers may offer discount rates for ColdFusion Development if you decide to also host with them, rather than just use them for ColdFusion development. The discount of sometimes even $5-$10 per hour off of the normal ColdFusion development rate can be often significant over a savings of only a few dollars in a a year of Hosting with a regular Hosting Provider

Requested changes, maintenance, components, functionality features, media or content updates, will be completed faster during regular hours, as well as in case of short notice / emergencies

Disadvantages of Hosting your ColdFusion Application with a ColdFusion developer:

Hosting on a different continent, or a different country / time zone (Eg. India, Pakistan, South Asia, etc.) Those deals might seem cheap, but trust me … you will pay the price later

Most people prefer to seek simple solutions to complicated problems. This is certainly true in the world of computer software, where a vast and often confusing number of choices exist to assist users with a wide variety of functions. What if someone could develop one computer-based system that would coordinate a bunch of important functions, therefore helping the user by making it as easy as possible to use? Do you think that such a program would be in demand?

The answer is “yes,” and the software packages to be discussed in this article are known as “content management systems.”

So, what does “content management” mean? And how does it help users to simplify their computer-related tasks?

A content management system (CMS) is a program, usually Internet-based, which is used for storing, publishing, updating, and controlling files and documentation through one interface. In other words, it allows a person to perform many different functions within one software package. A CMS helps to create a smoother “work-flow” for its users.

The advantages presented by such a system are obvious. With a Web-based CMS, a large number of contributors can share and manipulate data, then collectively produce a uniform output. The content handled by a CMS can include computer files, images, HTML files, electronic documents — such as those generated in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat PDF formats — and audio/video files.

For a large organization, perhaps one with several locations, utilizing a CMS is the only practical way for employees to effectively process data and communicate results and decisions with one another. Even in smaller firms the desire for a uniform standard of production also calls for a CMS system, although most likely one less sophisticated than used by larger companies.

Many CMS programs employ programming languages like Cold Fusion to interact with stored databases in order to present requested data in a pre-formatted Web page. This prevents having to create a large number of HTML pages; instead one can operate with a few templates to make desired information available to a Web site visitor.

In short, a CMS is a very efficient way to build a communication network through which a potentially large number of people can control stored data. Making the right choice in terms of which CMS to utilize is therefore vitally important for any organization.

There are many kinds of CMS systems, some distributed for free while others are commercial applications costing upwards of $100,000. Among the more expensive examples is the EM3 iOn, a Web-based content management system that allows a company to publish and control large volumes of content for use in multiple Web sites.

One of the most popular areas in which CMS programs are being actively utilized is in the rapidly growing “blog” industry. A large blog distributing company, such as WordPress, has thousands of users – many of whom are relatively inexperienced with computers. To attempt to generate a uniform product without a very effective CMS would be impossible. Through its use, WordPress bloggers are able to quickly produce their own blogs – all of which are filtered through a design template of their choice, thus producing Web sites that are pleasing to the eye and easy to maintain.

“Wiki” software, such as that used by online encyclopedia Wikipedia, is another type of CMS that allows Web pages to be both produced and edited using a common Web browser. It is a very effective way for many people to share information, most of which ends up in the same online locations. Once again, without a CMS such a project would be most likely be doomed to failure.

The future for CMS systems looks bright. The next “big thing” to hit the Internet are so-called “Web 2.0” systems. These are promoted as the “second-generation” of online communities and feature such social-networking sites as MySpace.com and Facebook.com, both of which make it easy for users to communicate and share information over the Web. As these types of sites become more and more sophisticated, yet correspondingly easier for users, it will be a CMS system that makes the whole thing function.
